Pedagogy Research Workshop

The NALRC is pleased to present its inaugural Pedagogy Research Workshop.

The week-long summer workshop is designed for African language instructors who are interested in research on African language pedagogy.

It will present participants with selected topics on language learning, action research,practitioner research, data collection methodologies, approaches to analysis, etc., with respect to the pedagogy of African languages.

This workshop is free and open to all current or future instructors of African languages, such as faculty, instructors at HBCUs, MSIs, CCs, graduate students, and allied professionals outside the university settings.

This year's Pedagogy Research Workshop will be held ONLINE. 

Cost:

The Pedagogy Research Workshop is free and open to all current or future instructors of African languages and related less commonly taught languages. Preference will be given to those who have completed other Workshops such as the NALRC Summer Institute. In addition, all applicants must demonstrate a serious interest in scholarship on African Language pedagogy.

The NALRC will cover the program fees (such as registration, administration, and instruction costs) for all selected applicants.

Participants will be responsible for their accommodation and lodging expenses. We encourage prospective participants to ask for support from their respective departments and language or area studies programs to cover expenses that NALRC will not cover.

Lunch, including tea and coffee, will be provided during the workshop.
