The Pathfinders Series is a professional development-focused video initiative instituted to archive, promote, and utilize the thoughts and opinions of scholars who have contributed immensely to the growth of African language teaching across institutions in the US. These scholars are the pathfinders of African language teaching in the United States and across the globe. Through interviews, teachings, presentations, etc., they share pedagogical resources and professional tips with current and future instructors of African languages.
About the Pathfinders
Pathfinders are African language scholars whose efforts and works are foundational to African language pedagogy and/or helpful in its growth. Pathfinders have contributed to best practices in African language pedagogy through the interpretations of how teaching standards could be adapted for African language pedagogy. Such interpretations are contained in their works in the field of African language pedagogy or textbooks for learning specific African languages. Pathfinders have also immensely contributed to the establishment of professional training and workshops for African language instructors.
